We at Cara Liom are very proud in the fact that anyone can come out with us and have a truly family experience. Everyone knows everyone, and if you don't to start, you will by the end of any day or event. We pride ourselves by offering a drug-free safe environment for any age or any person. In January of 2005, we all simply got tired of going out with mixed brigades, with people that didn't suit our personalities and without that sense of pride in creating your own name. From there, we created this brigade and many of us have made it our life long mission to make sure that this brigade strives to be one of the best on the street and one of the most close knit.

With these desires, a group of friends (which is where the name came from, and rings true) set out to create a brigade, and enjoy the new years experience with each other. We immediately decided that we wanted to be a wench brigade and be very active members in the Whitman & Pennsport communities. So we created our brigade and set out to not only be a wench brigade but also be a community service tool that strives our best to participate in our community as well. Throughout the year we hold various community service events with our close friends the Irish Society and have deemed to be very successful doing so.

We also have been down Broad Street every New Years day since the 2006 brigade and have finished as high as 3rd place in a very fun, but competitive divison that is growing year in and year out. We like to think we opened some doors for some new blood in the division because it had only been the same few brigades for quite some time. However, the only reason we have ever made it down Broad Street is because of our brilliant organizers, suit makers, family members Barb & Sally. They have been there since Day 1 and there are not words that can say the amount of work they have put into our brigade. They are truly the mothers of the Cara Liom club and for that we are forever in their debt. They are very much the entire Cara Liom history and we thank them.

Although we are a young club, we still have all of the old traditions and hope to share them with anyone interested. With that said, we always urge anyone whom wants to share our dream to come out to a meeting and join our club. We welcome almost all, and love to hear new stories, meet new faces, and share with your our goodtimes, dreams, inspirations, and goals of becoming a force in the Wench Brigades.
